Businesses leaders across our region, and the nation, have fought hard to keep moving forward this year. As a community, it’s time to celebrate the resilience we’ve developed and the support we’ve given each other over this challenging time.

It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the amazing work and achievements of our teams, and our business success. I’d like to congratulate a few of our members who have recently won awards for excellence in their business:

Cure Collective – State winner at the AMI Marketing Awards for Excellence in Acquisition Marketing for 2021.

Jones Partners Insolvency and Restructuring – Winner of Business of the Year and Professional Services Business of the Year – Local Business Awards Hills District.

Enzo’s Cucina Dural – Andrew El-Haddad – Winner of the 2021 Youth Award – Local Business Awards Hills District.

Coleman Greig Lawyers – Rebecca Hegarty (Principal Lawyer) – Winner of Mentor of the Year Award NSW Women Lawyers Achievement Awards 2021.

Congratulations also to all our members who were finalists in business awards this year.

Norwest Mentoring Program 2022

Mulpha, in partnership with the Chamber, is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2022 Norwest Mentoring Program.

Our members have participated in Mulpha Norwest’s Mentoring program over the last few years, and you’re invited to be a mentor or mentee in 2022.

The program aims to connect business and professional leaders with a new generation, to foster the collaboration and innovation culture that will drive the knowledge economy and provide future jobs at Norwest. Mentees can come from all walks of life, including students, young graduates and employees. Mentors can be in any profession, and must have a passion for uplifting the future generation.

Education Program and Marketplace

The SHBC Education Program is designed to provide value-adding education for our members and the wider business community.

The Education Program includes our popular Successful Connecting at SHBC new member courses, delivered by our support partners. It also includes our blog, thought leadership programs and further education activities. It is designed to assist members in developing relationships within the Chamber and the business community, delivered in collaboration with event hosts and industry bodies.

The Member Education Marketplace provides our members with the opportunity to advertise their own internal training and education courses through the SHBC website.

Our new education marketplace will go live over December 2021. Members will be set an email inviting them to explore the marketplace and submit an application to list their training courses.

The SHBC offers members the Education Marketplace as a way to promote business training resources and increase knowledge.

I’d also like to sincerely thank all the volunteer board members, leaders, partners and sponsors, who despite the challenges they faced in their own businesses, have given their time and effort so generously to support the Chamber this year.
