Developer Mulpha’s $1billion masterplanned residential planning proposal for The Greens – 40 Solent Circuit, Norwest, has been fast tracked for gazettal by the NSW Government’s Department of Planning, Industry and Environment this week, with a DA to be lodged for the first stage.
A series of nine high-rise towers, housing a total of 864 residential apartments will be built in Norwest, allowing 70 per cent of the ground plane (22,000sqm) to be converted into expansive landscape open space, all within walking distance to Norwest Station 500 metres away.
The Greens Planning Proposal will establish a new mixed-use residential community in Norwest Business Park with some 6,000m2 of retail and business space for cafes, restaurants, neighbourhood shops, as well as gym, medical, childcare and other facilities for the community.
Mulpha has also committed to a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) contributing $20.74m towards local community infrastructure including road improvements, a publicly accessible ‘urban plaza’ space on the site, upgrades to lighting and pedestrian security measures around Norwest Lake, contributions for open space, playing fields, community facilities, footpaths, cycleways, intersection improvements to Norwest Boulevard and a new signalised intersection at Solent Circuit East and Norwest Boulevard.
Mulpha Developments Executive General Manager, Mr Tim Spencer said:
“The Greens will also provide a continuous stream of work for construction workers in the medium to long term, with the first stage of 200 apartments expected to generate some 470 jobs, a small step towards supporting the State’s economic recovery.
“Mulpha has made a long-term commitment to the transformation of Norwest Business Park into a world-leading innovation, lifestyle and economic hub, encompassing all the features of a ‘Smart City’. The Greens is a critical piece of the vision establishing a vibrant residential town centre within 500 metres of the new Norwest Metro Station.”
