Event Hosting & Speaking Opportunities
Almost all Chamber events involve an event venue, an event host, and guest speakers. Venues and hosts come from within the Chamber membership. If your business is a hotel, restaurant or conference facility, providing the venue for a Chamber event can be an opportunity to showcase your business to the 100+ people who attend an event. Not all events are held at typical venues – some are catered events held at other suitable locations.
An event host contributes to the cost of running an event and has an opportunity to choose a guest speaker (or be the speaker), while showcasing their business to event guests.
Large corporations often have a board stacked with expertise, and the regular discussion of changes and challenges helps to steer the business in the right direction. But the SME owner often faces challenges alone. The Chamber’s MyBoard program seeks to create a board-like support network, with each small MyBoard group consisting of several members from different business types and sectors. MyBoard groups meet fortnightly, giving the members an excellent opportunity to bond with their group and learn from group members with other areas of expertise. Entry to this program is free for Chamber members.
Partnership & Sponsorship Opportunities
Being a not-for-profit organisation, the Chamber operation depends heavily on the voluntary supply of services and expertise. If you visit the Support Partner page on the Chamber website, you’ll see a lengthy list of member businesses that provide services to the Chamber under a partnership arrangement where services are supplied in exchange for promotional opportunities. Being a Chamber partner is a great way to gain additional exposure, get to know other members, and contribute something to your business community at the same time.
